Fabric weight and composition are different
Fabric weight is one part of a garment specification, not a complete measure of suitability.
Understand fabric weight
Weight is generally expressed in grams per square metre. It describes the fabric but does not alone guarantee comfort or durability.
Read the fibre composition
Fabrics with a similar weight can behave differently. Consider the fibres together with fabric construction, garment cut and intended use.
Include care and decoration
Discuss washing and drying conditions and the intended personalisation. Compare proposals that identify the style, composition, weight and finishes, rather than a single number.
Describe your needs
You do not need to choose an exact composition alone. Share your activity, preferred appearance and constraints so the team can discuss feasible options.
